Forty years of finished properties, and the mess that made them

Finished gardens, and the excavation, the machinery and the half-built pools that produced them. Both are here on purpose.

We have deliberately left the construction photographs in alongside the finished ones, because a portfolio of nothing but golden-hour final shots tells you nothing about how a company works when the yard is a hole in the ground.

What these photographs do and do not show

Are these all Brooks Landscape and Design projects?

Yes. Every photograph on this page is from a project designed and built by Brooks Landscape and Design across Ventura County, the Conejo Valley and the Santa Monica Mountains.

Why are there construction photographs in a portfolio?

Because most of a landscape budget is spent at that stage, and a portfolio of nothing but finished golden-hour shots tells you nothing about how a company works when the yard is a hole in the ground. The excavation, grading and half-built pools are here on purpose.

Can I see a project like mine?

Call (805) 208-3739 and describe the property. We can usually point at work we have done on a comparable lot, in comparable soil, at a comparable slope, which is more useful than any photograph chosen at random.
