Ventura County, Ventura County
Landscape design and construction in Ventura County
The whole county, including the cities not listed separately.
Brooks Landscape and Design designs and builds landscapes in Ventura County, Ventura County, from a yard in Moorpark, California. The company is family owned and has been working in this county since 1986, doing the design, the hardscape, the pools, and the planting and irrigation with its own crews.
What is different about building in Ventura County
We work across Ventura County, including communities we have not given their own page. The county spans coastal plain, inland valley and mountain edge within about twenty miles, so two projects the same distance from our yard can need completely different plant palettes.
Planting that survives a Ventura County summer
Plant selection in Ventura County is a climate decision rather than a taste decision. Our service area covers coastal plain, the Conejo Valley and hot inland valleys within roughly twenty miles, and a palette that thrives in marine air struggles in an inland August. Choosing correctly for the specific property is also the cheapest drought tolerance available, because a plant suited to where it stands needs less water for the whole of its life without anybody managing it.
Getting it right is also what keeps a garden looking deliberate rather than merely full. A plant suited to its position holds its shape, needs less cutting back, and does not have to be replaced in three years by something that should have been there in the first place.
